DESCRIPTION

The 599 GTB was originally designed with a manual gearstick in mind, and although the F1 SuperFast automated manual transmission was the quickest shifting system Ferrari had ever produced to date, the vehicle's full potential has arguably been lost to the passage of time. Certainly phenomenal on upshifts, the general behaviour of the hydraulic F1 system perhaps shows it's age when compared to modern driving expectations from a DCT system - and what experience can surpass that of an open gated manual Ferrari?

Developed in collaboration with a well established U. S. based manual conversion workshop over a 9 month period, including extensive R&D and testing, this superb driver-focused machine not only substantially enhances the engagement through the addition of an open gated manual shifter, but also benefits from significant modernisation beyond the extremely limited number of RHD factory produced manual conversions - all at a fraction of the premium these vehicles command.

Through a complete overhaul of the original Bosch ECU’s (these have been totally rebuilt from the ground up in the same style utilising AI tech developed and refined over the last 6 years), this 599 incorporates the best of all the factory software updates ever released for both the GTB and HGTE, whilst behaving as a manual should - allowing for crisp heel and toe downshifts. The limited factory manual cars that were converted at the later stages of the original production run unfortunately retained characteristics of the ‘F1 SuperFast’ automated manual transmission, so when considered in comparison this 599 really is something special indeed. Certainly it needs to be driven to be fully appreciated.

Additionally, the throttle response and torque availability have been finessed in depth with an experienced driver and performance vehicle enthusiast in mind. This enables what can only be described as HGTE plus feedback and a torque curve akin to the 599 GTO, without exceeding the manufacturer’s stress tolerances or incorporating any significant modifications beyond the manual conversion and engine management software improvements.

All conversion works were undertaken by an experienced independent Ferrari mechanic and all components included in the conversion have been designed outright for the vehicle.

The conversion itself was well documented and all information will be made available to a serious potential buyer.

The vehicle could well be returned to the original F1 system at a later stage if desired (I genuinely can’t imagine why anyone would - it’s a very special thing indeed!). All original components are included with the sale and reinstating the F1 system is a relatively straightforward process for an experienced workshop or mechanic.

Over 1, 500 miles have been thoroughly enjoyed since the conversion was officially completed in September 2024 without any issue.

Sale includes the following transferable warranties from the date of sale;

- 3 year warranty on all conversion kit components
- 3 year warranty on all completed conversion works
- 3 year Annual Service & MOT package, including collection free of charge within 150miles.
- Clutch replacement included free of charge within three years.
- Extended support beyond this time frame is also available through Made To Be Driven Ltd.

Annual Service and MoT recently undertaken by Foskers in October 2024 and the vehicle passed with zero advisories. Full dealer & specialist service history.
